Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Steep grains in gallons of water at 155 degrees for 45 minutes
2.
Strain and rinse gains with 0.5 gallons of water, leaving 2.5 gallons for boil
3.
Add malt extract and 60 minute hops. Boil for 60 minutes.
4.
Add hops along schedule.
5.
Add honey at 15 minutes remaining
6.
Add Irish Moss at 10 minutes remaining with 10 minute hops
7.
Flame out and chill wort.
8.
Strain out and sparge hops into fermenter. Add water to bring fermenter to 5.5 gallons.
9.
Aerate wort very well and pitch yeast at 70 degrees.
10.
Ferment at 70 degrees for 7 days.
11.
Rack to secondary, add dry hops.
12.
Cellar beer for secondary fermentation at 55 degrees for 6 days.
