All Grain Irish Red Ale homebrew recipe. This homebrew recipe uses the following ingredients: Biscuit Malt - BE, Roasted Barley - US, Maris Otter Pale - UK, Goldings Hops, Fuggles Hops, White Labs Irish Ale WLP004 Homebrew Yeast, Irish Moss.
1.Mash 150 for 75 min: Heat 9 gallons of water to 160 deg. Add 4.04 gallons of water to the tun. Let sit for 75 minutes. Vorlauf. Drain (should yield 2.67 gal.)
2.Batch sparge 168 to 170: Heat remaining water to 170. Add 4.89 gal. water to tun. Wait 10 minutes. Vorlauf. Drain.
3.75 minute boil: Run-off volume should be 7.45 gallon. Bring to a boil.
4.Set timer for 60 minutes. Add the first hops.
5.When timer goes off, add cooling coil, hops and Irish moss. Set timer for 15 minutes.
