One of the best beers I have brewed. Next time, I will add more Stranahan's Whiskey and try oak chips or spirals. My friends have tasted many of my beers and this is the one that they keep asking about it.

Thanks CTORX - the only adjustments I would make are a bit more whiskey and a bit longer on the stave in secondary - or use spirals / chips. The recipe is solid. I will brew it again - may be an annual thing.

I used oak chips for this recipe: http://brewgr.com/recipe/1859/black-imp-russian-imperial-stout-recipe. I used 1oz soaked in bourbon. Lots of online advice says to not overdo it with the oak, but I wish I had added more or used oak spirals instead to get more smoky oak flavor.
