Notes:

Beer has clarified significantly, no noticeable chill haze. Flavors of biscuit and nut have smoothed and rounded, rye dryness still present. Very enjoyable complexity.

Notes:

Color: Opaque light brown. Carmel. It has little to no clarity. Looks rich and full. Nose: Mixed nuts and cane sugar. A bit sharp. Some nice hints of spices…it’s almost clove-ish to me. Honestly, based on color and nose, one could mistake this for a really out-in-left-field brown ale mixed by a mad scientist. Taste: Strong notes of overly roasted almonds, heavily spiced with rye and notes of a sweet-ish malt. Salty, savory, spicy, sweet and dry…sometimes all at once. This beer is a blitzkrieg. Overall: Super wild beer, semi-unpredictable and not for the faint of heart. This is the point on a Venn Diagram where amber ales, nutty brown ales, and those spicy christmas seasonals all overlap. To me, this concoction is what craft beer is all about. This beer is not for everyone, and it wasn’t made for everyone. With Copperheads there needs to be a glass enclosure, but with the Texas Copperhead Amber Ale, all I need is a pint glass. Max K.

Notes:

1 week in bottle, good carbonation, full head, lacing to end. Strong biscuit notes, some nutty flavor, mild spicy bitterness, earthy aromas.
