This was a fun experiment to see if we could the the stout mouthfeel from a light colored beer. Worked out pretty well too! You need to use cold press coffee beans for the bitterness and some cocoa nibs. I used 4oz cocoa soaked in vodka and put in secondary along with 8 oz whole coffee beans light roast and decaf also soaked in vodka and put in secondary and this worked well. Also this was my first time using smoked malt and I loved it! It is going to be a staple in my stout recipes from now on.
