How did the cherry smoked malt taste in the beer? Is it harsh or does it compliment the chocolate malt?

I haven't brewed it yet. I'm planning to mash the roasted & smoked malts separately then mix in afterward to get two beers at once (perhaps and ESB & Porter). My home smoked malt is lightly smoked. I've used up to 60% in a grain bill ans still could have used more smoke flavour. In this recipe, it might contribute a hint of smoke flavour.
