Special Instructions
1.Create a 1.5L yeast starter with 1 vial
2.Mash at 152F for 60 minutes.
3.Chill to 68F and ferment as follows:
4.68F for day 1-2
5.70F for day 3
6.72F for day 4-21 of primary. After Day 21, bottle
7.Prime with 4 oz corn sugar, age for 3 weeks
9.37F for day 35-70 in keg (crash cool / lager conditioning bringing temp down 3F per day)
I need to make sure i got the correct CaraVienna - BE grain, and measure the "other stuff." The finished beer wasn't as red as I expected, and had too much orange flavor. I'll start drinking later in the day next time. My version tasted more like a fresh orange Blue Moon. Still very good, but it wasn't what I was shooting for.
