Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Heat 1.5 gallons of water to strike temp of 170F in separate saucepan or pot.
2.
Add 3.5 gallons of water to boil kettle, bring to 130F, then add 6 lbs of Gold Malt syrup, stirring. Continue to heat.
3.
Steep grains (split between 2 bags) for 20 mins, covered. Temp should go from 165F to start down to 150F. Do not let it drop below 150F.
4.
Add steeped grains to boil kettle, add water to bring total volume to 6.25 gallons (allows for extra malt added later) and bring to boil.
5.
Add hops per schedule.
6.
Add Irish Moss, Gypsum, and Yeast Nutrient at 15 mins.
7.
Add remaining 3.15lb of Gold Malt at 15 mins.
8.
At flameout chill to 70F, then whirlpool and rest for 20 mins, before transferring to fermenter.
9.
Add yeast, ferment at 69F /- 1F.
10.
Once primary fermentation is complete, add dry hops to fermenter, and leave for 7 days before kegging/bottling.
