I'm going to divide this into 3 fermenters when primary is completed in order to add different amounts of Peanut Butter and Cherry puree. My divisions will be: A=8oz Cherry/2oz PB, B=6oz cherry/3oz PB, and C=4oz cherry/4oz PB. Any remaining beer I'll throw in with the cherry saison secondary as I'm making just a cherry saison 5 gallon batch at the same time.

This recipe was cloned from Ch-Ch-Ch-Cherry Saison.

CheeseNips

Tasted on 9/23/2017 by CheeseNips

Notes:

PB Cherry C - color is really dark Amber, almost a brown ale. Aroma is toasty malt and peanuts with a hint of saison spice. Pours almost no foam that immediately drops out. Flavor is starts with a little saison spice, slightly fruity and clove, with a finish of bread and peanut butter. This is close to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, though the fruit flavor could be kicked up a bit. This is a good beer even though I don't get any cherry. Definitely the right amount of peanut butter. I would give 4 stars except I don't taste cherry, so only 3.

Notes:

PB Cherry B - color is dark orange. Aroma is saison spice with definite peanut. Pours with almost no foam and what does pour dissipates immediately. Flavor is saison spice, clove and pepper, followed by a light peanut flavor and a boozy finish. The cherry isn't detectable. The aftertaste is slightly bitter and tart, not bad but not good. I don't care for this one. I'm giving it 2 stars as it is drinkable.

Notes:

PB Cherry Saison A - color is maroon. Pours with a little foam that dissipates very quickly. Aroma is pepper saison spice with peanut. Flavor is saison spice, pepper and clove, with only a very indistinct peanut flavor and slight tartness from cherry. I don't think I'd know this is a peanut butter cherry saison if I got one unlabelled. Not my favorite, but drinkable.
