Special Instructions

1.
Start 10 gallons of water to strike temp of 162.7 (extra 0.5 to warm equipment)
2.
Add 2 Tsp Gypsum, 1 Tsp CaCL to 100 PPM Chloride, 175 PPM Sulfate (for total 10 gallons water)
3.
60 Min Mash 5 Gallons Water at 151 degrees
4.
Add Grain
5.
Add Rice Hulls (lots of rice hulls)
6.
Sparge 4.5 Gallons water at 170 to collect total 6.5 gallons
7.
90 Min Boil (hops at 60)
8.
Add Whirlfloc tablet at 15 Minutes left in boil
9.
Whirlpool @ 180F for 30 mins
10.
Cool wort to 66F and pitch yeast starter
11.
Ferment @ 66 for 3 days then then allow to rise to 72

    Should split mash and sparge into two batches of water to make heating process go faster. Strike temp should always be about 4-6 degrees higher than what the calculators say. Remember to take OG before buttoning up brew jacket. Also remember to tape temperature sensor to bucket ahead of time.

    OG 1.065 - fermentation as high as 78 (brew jacket was broken somehow)
