Start to soak the oak in Whisky on brew day and then add to secondary when you rack.

Keep in seconday 3 to 4 weeks.

Notes:

22oz bottle poured into an English Pint @ 42°. Color is black with mellow carbonation and a rocky tan head that tightens as it comes down, Aroma is roasted , faintly smoky with a touch of the oak show on the back. It has a medium body with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee and coco with a slight sweetness, then a mild bitterness comes in on the end. In the after taste the oak starts to show with a bit of the whisky, but the maple never comes out. Overall this ended out being a really good brew.
