KO'd at 64F. It was difficult to dial in KO temp. Set carboy heated to 69F. Pitched gen2 WY1275 from island magic. Efficiency was lower than expected.
Ripped and roared. Had krausen within 12 hours after KO.

2/6@1.008@72F. Tasting good, dropped temp to 65F.
Golden color, white foam, with mild haze. Fresh cut grapefruit, sweet candied lemon peel aromas. Medium-bodied. Light malty sweetness ebbs beneath a potent mix of citrus pith, resin, and some heady cannabis notes. Snappy dry finish paints coat after coat of hop oils across your tongue.
I don't know if they make them like this anymore. Tastes like the previous era of IPA. When we wanted to push the lupulin envelope, but also knew there was a limit, and balance was often appreciated. When beers didn't all look like a gold or orange DuPont paint sample. Some haze permitted, but not necessarily encouraged. Before fruit puree, before lactose, before vanilla bean.
This beer tastes like coming home, like remembering a very important, defining detail in your life that life itself had obscured. I had become pretty disinterested in making India Pale Ale for some time. This might be both my favorite and best I've made...ever. Fickle things, bias and preference.
I fell in love with a flower.
