Added 2 tsp (approx 9g) gypsum to the brewing water. Boiled with 1/3 of the Pilsener LME (appox 3.5 lbs), 0.5 lbs of the Wheat LME and the dextrose. Added the remaining Pilsener LME at the end of the boil / whirlpool. Strained as much of the hop matter as was possible on the way into the fermenter. This caught a lot but as you can see from the hydrometer sample, plenty more made it in. Pitched 2 packets of rehydrated US-05 at 65F. Ingredients Caramel 40 - 0.5 lbs = $1.05 Dextrose 1.5 lbs @ $2.49/lb = $3.49 Pilsner LME: 10.9 lbs @ $3.29/lb = $35.86 Wheat LME 0.5 lbs = $1.65 US-05: 2 packs @ $3.98 = $7.96 Simcoe: 4 @ $2.99 = $11.96 Warrior: 2 @ $2.25 = $4.50 Centennial: 4 @ $2.25 = $9.00 Columbus: 4 @ $2.25 = $9.00 Chinook: 2 @ $2.25 = $4.50 Gypsum: 2 oz = $1.04 Total Cost $90.26
