Mash temp 146 so heated a gallon of boiling water to bring up strike temp. Added 2 quarts of boiling water to bring temp to 152. Mash ratio is now 1.44 qts/gallon. First runnings gravity 1.089 if that matters. Initial collection 2.75 gallons. Added a little more than 2 gallons of 170ish water for first batch sparge. Did the same for 2nd batch. Seemed a little short on pre-boil volume so again added another half gallon of water to bring up volume. Hit OG of 1.053. Kettle loss appears to be ...
