Description:
This is a light orange colored beer with a very fruity, strong hop taste and a wonderful white head. Not too bitter, but very hoppy. This IPA has a strong smell of ripe grapefruit and is unlike any beer I've tasted. Delicious, refreshing, fruity, bright, sweet, bitter and happy, this is a fun beer to drink any time of the year.
Ingredients:
4.5 lbs Pale Malt 2-row
1 lb Crystal Malt 40L
1 lb Carapils Malt
1 lb Wheat Malt
3 lbs Coopers Light DME
2 oz. Columbus
2 oz. Cascade
0.5 oz. Golding
CA Ale Yeast
3/4 cup bottling sugar
Procedure:
Steep all milled grain for 60 mins, keeping it at 160 - 165 degrees
Sparge in 180 degree water
Bring the wort to a boil and add your Goldings.
with 20 mins left, add 1 oz. Cascade
with 2 mins left, add remainder Cascade
strain into fermenter and pitch yeast at room temp.
Once primary fermentation is complete, add 2 oz. Columbus by dry hopping
Bottle after 10 - 14 days
