Mash Steps

No mash steps in this recipe

Special Instructions

1.
Mill all grains until a fine grist is achieved
2.
Add milled grains to a nylon straining bag or muslin grain bag
3.
Heat mash water in pot to 163 F and add bag of grains
4.
Place pot in oven heated to 175 F
5.
Mash for 75 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes
6.
Remove pot from oven, place on stove, and heat water to 170 F
7.
Pull bag, add FWH, and turn heat to HIGH
8.
Proceed with boil schedule
9.
At flameout, add last hops and whirlpool vigorously for 1 minute
10.
Place pot in ice bath and cool to 72 F
11.
Transfer wort to primary fermenter
12.
Pitch 3 grams of US-05 yeast at 72 F, place stopper and airlock on fermenter
13.
Wait for primary fermentation to subside before adding dry hop bag
14.
Take three hydrometer readings after one week on back-to-back-to-back days
15.
If FG is steady, rack to secondary and add second dry hop addition
16.
After 2 weeks in secondary, siphon beer into a solution of 18 grams priming sugar dissolved in 1 cup of water
17.
Bottle beer. Wait 2 weeks, chill beer, and enjoy!
