Hefeweizen for the float trip, always a crowd pleaser. Overshot my strike temp so I had to let the kettle cool a bit before the mash, lost more temp during the mash than normal, started 148.6 and ended 147, still got the extraction I was aiming for so I guess it's fine, beer is a nice straw yellow, perfect for a hefe, wort tastes fine, I threw in the last bit of the perle hops about 5 minutes before flameout, so maybe they'll be a hint of hop flavor in the finish. Last beer I'm brewing for the ...

Float trip Hefe, I'm going to add an ounce of orange peel and the about 1/3 ounce Perle at 5 minutes just to change this up a by adding a little orange note. Always a beer that everyone will drink and enjoy. Smooth brew day, mash temp was just a bit higher than planned, wort smelled and tasted nice, very light yellow in color, I pitched this with Munich Classic, my very favorite Hefe yeast and I'm kicking fermentation off at 64F and I'll raise it a bit as fermentation progresses until I get ...

Bad crush on the wheat, which I bought milled just so I wouldn't have to adjust my mill, I should have milled it again, but I rolled with it and my efficiency suffered, I came in at just over 6 gallons but well under my target of 1.053 at 1.048, irritating. The beer will be fine, otherwise everything thing else was pretty smooth, a ...

A couple of changes to the recipe today, I used malted wheat with no flaked wheat in this beer, was out of flaked but had plenty of wheat malt so I subbed it. I'm also going to add the zest of 4 grapefruits at the end of the boil(5 min) to change it up a bit. Mash started at 149.9 F and ended at 149.7 F after 60 minutes. Gravity Reading 4/12/19 1.006 likely done I'll let it condition for another week or so before bottling. Bottled this 4/19 ended up with about 61 bottles, tastes good, I'll ...
