Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Mash 1.5 hours. Grain in @ 60C for 1/4 hour
2.
Then up to 66C for 1 hrs
3.
Then to 70C for 1/4 hour
4.
Temp up to 77C
5.
Wort recirculated through the grain bed then run off
6.
Sparge with water at 77C.
7.
First hops in after 30 mins boil time. Others as above
8.
Britewort added for last 10 mins. of boil.
9.
Wort chiller inserted for 2 min in boil to sterilize
10.
Final hops in at flame out
11.
Chilled water passed through wort chiller for 25 mins. (24C)
12.
Made up to 5 gals with cold water.
13.
Yeast added at 24C SG 1.050
14.
(Yeast collected from SMaSH Pale Ale brew and saved)
15.
3 days later (29th March).Racked at SG 1.008 and dry hopped
16.
Cold Crashed on 3rd April, 8 days after brewing
17.
3 days later SG 1.006 kegged with 70 gms Dex.
