Mash

Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Mash 3 hours. Grain in @ 55C for 15 mins
2.
Then 15 mins @ 60C then up to 66C for 2 hrs 15 mins
3.
Then to 70C for 15 mins
4.
Temp up to 77C then sparge with water at same temp.
5.
Boil for 60 mins before first hops added
6.
Britewort added for last 10 mins. of boil.
7.
Other hops added as above
8.
Wort chiller inserted for 2 min in boil to sterilize
9.
Second and third batch of hops added at flame out.
10.
Chilled water passed through wort chiller for 30 mins. (26C)
11.
Made up to 5 gals with cold water.
12.
Yeast added at 22C SG 1.050
13.
24 hrs later fermenting well SG 1.040
14.
Racked and dry hopped 3 days later (19th Oct) SG 1.010
15.
Racked off hops 4 days later SG 1.008
16.
Bottled 10 days after brewing SG 1.006 85gms priming
