Did 2 separate mashes. First mash temp was 154F. Second mash temp was 151F. Collected 6.5 gallons from each mash for a pre-boil volume of 13 gallons. Added hops at 80min and 20min. Minor boil-over halfway through the boil. Post-boil volume was 11 gallons, so I think my boil-off rate is slightly higher than 1gal/hour. Maybe 1.3 gallons/hour? Near perfect brew day. 5.25 gallons for strike and 6 gallons for sparge. Had a bit left over after filling the kettle to 9 gallons. Nailed target pre-boil gravity of 1.049. Two stuck sparges, but didn't matter because I just stirred and vorlauf'd again. Threw in 1oz of Cascade at 75, 45, 15 or thereabouts. 5.5 gallons in fermenter. Chilled to 80F (ground water is hot) and finished chilling overnight in fridge. Pitched 1L of 1056 the next morning at 8am. Signs of fermentation 4-5 hours ...
