Mash Steps

No mash steps in this recipe

Special Instructions

1.
Mash 3 hours. Grain in @ 55C for 1/2 hour
2.
Then 45mins @ 60C then up to 66C for 1.5 hrs
3.
Temp up to 77C for 15 mins then sparge at same temp.
4.
Sugar, salts and citric acid added just before boiling point
5.
Target hops in at boiling, second batch in after 30 mins boil
6.
Other hops in as above
7.
Irish Moss (Britewort) added last 10 mins
8.
Wort chiller inserted for 2 min in boil to sterilize
9.
Chilled water passed through wort chiller for 30 mins. (20C)
10.
Made up to 5 gals with cold water.
11.
Yeast added at 20C SG 1.048
12.
48hrs later SG 1.018
13.
Dry Hopped at first racking with Citra hops. Left 4 days.
14.
21 days later SG1.010
15.
Primed with 100gms sugar and bottled on 8/3/17 SG1.008

A crisp and hoppy ale. Drinks well chilled but stayed a little cloudy.
