Grains: $15.01 Water: $7.04 Yeast: $4.00 Hops: $.70 Total: $26.75. Going for a medium bodied beer with very malty caramel flavor with hints of toast and raisin.
This is getting better every day I drink it. Starting to taste a small amount of raisin? Maybe it's just the placebo affect I got from reading the description of Special B. It's surprisingly refreshing, especially after a night of shoveling snow!
As always, my Achilles heel is my impatience. After sitting around awhile the beer tastes good. Not exactly what I was going for, but pretty close. Mild malty aroma, very malty flavor which finishes with a nice amount of carmely sweetness. Low to medium body. A bit more bitter than I anticipated. Tastes good.
I'm disappointed, this just isn't a very exciting beer. It doesn't taste bad but it was not what I was going for. Body is meh, but still a dry finish. Very bread like flavor, and maybe unsweetened caramel? If that's a thing? I'll let it sit around some more and see what happens.
