Jug Dog American Pale Ale Brew Session

Boil was a standard boil with a little bit of a boil over scare. I added the fermcap S to settle everything down. I fooled this by pouring the hot wort through a strainer on to ice in a bucket. That cooled it way down to about 65° in like 5 minutes. I keep the fermentor in my basement where it gets pretty cold so I leave in near the heater and that keeps it right around 65°. I used an airlock thinking that with a 1.050 O.G. it would be fine but that clogged with kraussen so I put a blowoff tube in. It will stay in the primary for 10 days then ill rack to secondary for 2 weeks. The taste at the time of transfering to secondary is what i was hoping for. Its got that grapefruit citrus hop aroma and flavor from the simcoe hops. The malt isnt as pronounced as i think it should bw but with 2 weeks in the secondary that should iron itself out.

Notes:

Golden straw color and not as clear as I hoped Citrus and some piney aroma Its very close to the Yards Philly Pale Ale. Its got a clean crisp flavor mostly from the simcoe hops. . Definately going to make this again. So far this is the beer tasting beer I have made. (My 6th batch ever)
