Superbowl Sunday. Ran out of time today. Wanted to be done and chilling before kick off. About the mash; added 1oz acid malt 1 gram Gypsum and 1 gram Calcium Chloride to RO water. Mashed for an hour in the water cooler mash tun. 3 gallons water at 161 into mash tun pre grains. grains were 62 degrees. Preheated tun with 115 tap water. After grains, were added temp ended up around 148. Added 1L just off boil RO water to get mash up to 151.
Sparged with 3 gallons straight RO water. heated to 130ish
Added 1 gallon tap to the kettle first. (shooting for 6.5ish preboil - grain absorption).
Cut the boil to 45 minutes. FWH .5oz centennial FWH.
Dumped the wort onto a safale 05 cake (from the 15 minute IPA)
Ended up with OG of 1.041. 4 points off...due to the shorter boil?
