Nice color and head. Very earthy hop aroma. Good malt flavor to start, then follows through with good bitterness and hop flavor. Not as deep and complex as Obsidian. Not much roast or espresso notes. Should have steeped longer to ensure full sugar extraction. Bought a refractometer since brew day, so that should solve that problem. Cold steeping roasted grains should help give more complexity to the malt taste. I would almost classify this as a CDA/BIPA, Did not hit target O.G, 0.011 points low.
