Brew Session Info
10/30/2018
(Include any important notes from brew day until tasting)
Brew date 30oct2018. dry hop on
When bottling: Amount of dextrose: 87 grams
the yeast i used in the 30oct brew was wyeast 1968 and the one im using today is A09 Pub - Imperial Organic Yeast. for both i made a roughly 900ml starter.
my boil size was 6.5 but should have been 6.8, which yielded me 5 gallons
Everything went smoothly.
I did not need to sparge the 2nd time, just one time did the trick.
need a bigger pot than the 7 gallon i am using
preboil gravity was 1.037-1.043 after being calibrated for nonstandard temp(range is because i cant remember the exact temp the wart was at when i took the gravity reading.)
day before dryhopping gravity reading was 1.020. Smells absolutely fantastic! very citrusy and the color is spot on. Very very happy with how this one is going so far. Taste is very good, very bitter, and very citrus as well. expected ABV is 5.5%.
Day of dryhopping. Today I took 6 beers and bottled them prior to dryhopping with 1oz citra. I did this to determine the difference of dryhopping and to evaluate how long this beer needs to condition and carbonate in the bottle. I will drink 2 of these beers each week and note the flavor profile head retention and overall readiness.
OG=1.062
Fg=1.020
ABV: 5.6%
need to figure out a way to get a cleaner product after transfering from kettle to carboy

Gravity Estimates
Based on boiling 6.50gallonsliters at 1.040 for 75 minutes, this will decrease your wort by 1.25gallonsliters, bringing your after boil OG to 1.048.
You wanted an OG of 1.065. It looks like it will be under.
