All Grain American IPA homebrew recipe. This homebrew recipe uses the following ingredients: Maris Otter Pale - UK, Amber - UK, Cara Malt - UK, Citra Hops, Wyeast American Ale 1056 Homebrew Yeast, Irish Moss.
4.Sparge for 45 minutes, adding 10 l water heated to 68C to lauter
5.When grain has finished dripping, increase temperature to ca.100C. Add 10g citra hops in hop spider
6.Start boil timer for 60 minutes. After 30 minutes, add 10g Citra hops into hop spider.
7.Submerge immersion cooling coil at 50 minutes, add 1x whirlfloc tablet. Sterilise fermentation equipment: steriliser, steriliser lid, air lock, tap, jug, muslin bag. Use some sterilising fluid for the airlock.
8.Add 30g Citra hops in muslin bag at 60 minutes. Cool wort to 18C.
9.Remove muslin bag and add to fermenter. Transfer wort to fermenter using the jug and aerate as much as possible.
10.Take a gravity reading and note it down here ......................
11.Pitch the yeast. Fit the air lock and lid. Move fermenter to utility room, keep at even temperature around 19C
12.When fermentation slows after around 5 days, take a gravity reading and note it here............. along with the date................
13.Allow fermentation to continue, until final gravity approaches desired figure. Move fermenter to Unit 12 and allow to settle.
14.After 1-2 weeks, sterilise bottles and crowns and fill of the beer into bottles, being careful not to upset sediment. Write date here ...........................
15.Ale should be ready to drink 4-5 weeks after bottling.
