I've been kicking around the idea of a hoppy beer using the commonly overlooked Brewer's Gold variety. It has crazy fruit flavors that I've really loved in Biere de Garde recipes, but it's never been the real focus of a beer. I'm pairing them with Citra just to up the fruit and round out those flavors a little. The goal for this one is to hop burst for maximum flavor/aroma. The grain bill is pretty simple, with just a little bit of maltiness to counteract the hops. I figure I might get to this one this summer, so I'm using a heat-tolerant Norwegian ale strain that might add a little fruitiness of its own to the mix.
