Heated strike water to 170, let rest for a few in mash tun, mashed in and mash temp was about 152. Shooting for 154. Added .5 tsp of citric acid which lowered mash from 5.9 to the 4.9-5 range. First runnings was a bit over 2 gallons. I thought I collected too much sparge water but it was actually closer than I thought. Preboil gravity was 1.042. Boiled for just over an hour, added 1.5 oz of 2.6 AA Hallertaurer and ended up with just over 4 gallons in fermenter. For next brew, change mash ...

Actual first runnings = just under 2 gallons, pre boil volume just under 6.5 gallons, mash grain absorption closer to 0.18 gallons per pound, kettle turn loss is 1 gallon,
