All Grain Irish Red Ale homebrew recipe. This homebrew recipe uses the following ingredients: Biscuit Malt - BE, Roasted Barley - US, Maris Otter Pale - UK, Goldings Hops, Fuggles Hops, White Labs Irish Ale WLP004 Homebrew Yeast, Irish Moss.
1.Mash 153 for 75 min: Heat 7.34 gallons of water to 164 deg. Add ALL water to the tun. Let sit for 75 minutes. Vorlauf. Drain (should yield 3.94 gal.)
2.Batch sparge 168 to 170: Heat 9.24 gallons of water to 170. Add ALL water to tun. Wait 10 minutes. Vorlauf. Drain.
3.75 minute boil: Run-off volume should be 12.95 gallon. Bring to a boil for 15-30 minutes (check volume).
4.Set timer for 60 minutes. Add the first hops.
5.When timer goes off, add cooling coil, hops and Irish moss. Set timer for 15 minutes.
6.Cool, add to fermenter(s) and top up to 11 gallons.
