Leftover Brown Brew Brew Session

Brew Session Info

(Include any important notes from brew day until tasting)

During bottling: smelled strongly of dark cherries and tasted fairly sweet. The gravity reading was a little higher than expected, so it's possible that had something to do with it. Regardless, it shouldn't cause much of a problem. 4 days after bottling: No bottle bombs... yet.

Notes:

It has a prominent flavor of dark cherry, almost as if I had used Hanks Black Cherry soda instead of water. I'm not a fan, but I can see the appeal. It has medium to light body, and a very dark brown color. The head is tan, dissipating at a medium pace. I carbonated it pretty well (this bottle, at least - some of the bottles have had a little less). There's virtually no hop flavor, because the malty/cherry notes are so strong. But it does have some typical malt flavors: roasty, not-quite-toasty, biscuit, and bready flavors. But they don't really compete with the cherry.
