2/7/19 Made a yeast starter with 2L water, 425g Pale DME, 1/2 tsp. yeast nutrient and about 5 hop pellets (Magnum@14.4). This gave me a O.G of 1.045, then pitched the yeast around 7pm.
2/8/19 5:00pm Starter is go strong, should work out well.
2/9/19 Water in HLT was 170 this gave me 164 in the mash tun so I lost 6 in transfer. Mash seemed very thick and I missed the temp, I got 145-146. Added 2qts boiling water and this gave me 151.9. This took about 19 min so I mashed for another 60 mins. At 30min mash was at 149.5. Whirl pooled for 13min with the Cinnamon, Coriander and Orange zest.
