This was the first recipe that I designed and also my first All Grain batch. I took an existing British Brown Ale Recipe and fused it with an American IPA Recipe to make a Black IPA. Overall the beer is quite interesting and satisfying. It offers a nice flavor profile with hints of biscuit and cherries while kicking you in the face with some serious bitterness. My suggestion to anyone making this recipe...back off the bitterness just a bit, or add some additional malt. If the IBUs for this beer were between 80 and 90, I think it would be just about perfect.

Boil Magnum Hops for 45 Minutes

Add 2oz Cascade, Irish Moss, and Yeast Nutrient

Boil for 15 Minutes

Chill Wort to 68F
5.
Transfer to Primary and Pitch Yeast
6.
Ferment for 1 Week
7.
Add remaining Cascade Hops to fermenter
8.
Wait 2 Weeks
9.
Bottle or Keg and Enjoy
