Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Bring 3 gal of water to 155 degrees, then remove from heat
2.
Add grains and salts, mix thoroughly, and let stand for 30 min
3.
Rinse grains with 1 gal of hot water, then discard the grains
4.
Add additional water for 6.5 gallons and bring to boil
5.
Remove from heat and gently stir in extract
6.
Bring to boil
7.
After 20 minutes add 1 oz of Glacier hops
8.
Continue boiling for 40 minutes
9.
Cool wort to 75 degrees within 30 minutes
10.
During this time re-hydrate yeast in one cup @ 86-92 degrees
11.
Cover yeast and let stand for 15-30 minutes
12.
Pour cooled wort through sanitized strainer into fermenter
13.
Top off fermenter to 5 gallons
14.
Take hydrometer reading (OG) and discard sample
15.
Stir wort briskly to add oxygen
16.
Pour vial of Clarity Ferm into fermenter
17.
Pour yeast into fermenter and stir VERY GENTLY
18.
Seal fermenter and ferment at 68 degrees
