Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Steep/mash base malt and specialty grain @160°F for 60 minutes in 2.8 qts of water
2.
Heat 7.2qts of water in the brew kettle. Add half the LME. Heat to 160°F
3.
Heat 2q of water in small pot to 170
4.
Once mash is completed, place strainer over brew kettle, put grain bag in strainer. Pour grain wort over bag. Next, sparge with the 2 qts of 170°F water
5.
Bring wort to a boil and add sugar and 1oz hops. Set timer for 60 minutes
6.
Follow hop schedule from the point
7.
After 60 min, at flame out, add remaining LME to wort and dissolve
8.
Once wort is mixed thoroughly, cool quicky with wort chiller
9.
Transfer cooled wort to fermenter and stir well to aerate
10.
Take OG reading and record. Add sanitized yeast and yeast nutrient and stir well.
11.
Attach lid, sanitized air lock and thermometer
12.
Impatiently wait two weeks??
