Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Heat 10.0 gallons of filtered tap water to 164 degrees
2.
Mix 3.6 gallons water with grains in mash tun
3.
Seal container for 60 minutes
4.
Slowly draw liquid from tun and recirculate until clear
5.
Slowly begin to collect wort while adding sparge water in equal amounts
6.
Keep about 1 inch of sparge water on top of grain bed (process should take 45 min)
7.
Collect 6.5 gallons of wort and proceed to hop schedule
8.
Boil wort for 5 minutes
9.
Add 1.75 oz of Fuggles hops
10.
Boil for 40 minutes
11.
Then add .25 oz of Fuggles hops
12.
Add 1 teaspoon of Irish Moss
13.
Boil for another 10 minutes then put chiller into pot for sterilization
14.
Bring wort back to boil and then boil for another 5 minutes
15.
Turn off heat
16.
Cool wort to 75 degrees within 30 minutes
17.
Take hydrometer reading (OG)
18.
Pour wort into fermenter and top off at 5 gallons
19.
Aerate wort
20.
Pitch vial of Clarity Ferm
21.
Pitch yeast
22.
Seal fermenter and ferment at 67 degrees for 10-14 days
