Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Heat 4 gal of water in kettle to 155 degrees for steeping
2.
Remove kettle from heat
3.
Add salts
4.
Add brew bag filled with grains
5.
Mix completely to avoid dry pockets
6.
Cover and let stand for 30 minutes
7.
Squeeze brew bag with pot tops to extract maximum sugars
8.
Discard grains
9.
Add additional water but allow room for extract
10.
Bring to boil
11.
Remove kettle from heat and add extract while stirring
12.
Bring kettle back to boil for 5 min and begin hop schedule
13.
Add 1 ounce of Warrior hops (A)
14.
Boil for 40 minutes
15.
Then add 1 ounce of Willamette hops (B)
16.
Add 1 tsp of Irish Moss
17.
Boil for another 15 minutes
18.
Turn off heat (flameout)
19.
Add 1 ounce of Willamette hops (C)
20.
Cool wort to 75 degrees within 30 minutes
21.
Take hydrometer reading (OG)
22.
Add water to get to 5 gal mark
23.
Pour wort into fermenter
24.
Pitch vial of Clarity Firm
25.
Pitch dry yeast
26.
Stir gently
27.
Seal fermenter and ferment at 67 degrees for 5 days
28.
Transfer into secondary fermenter
29.
Place 1 ounce Zydros hops in bag inside fermenter
30.
Ferment at 67 degrees for 7 days
