Did mixed batch and fly sparge (took nearly 1.25 hours total). vorlaufed, and drained about 1 gal of first runnings to kettle, added back a gallon of 180F water to mash tun, mixed grains and let sit for 15 mins. Vorlaufed, and fly sparged with remaining approx. 4 gals of sparge water for nearly an hour. Used Nottingham (had been washed twice; most recently about 4 months ago) without starter.
