First Minnesota IPA Brew Session

Wort was fermenting almost immediately after yeast pitch. Dry hopped after 16 hours in the tank, airlock activity already slow. 8/14 - Bottled today. The sample was quite hoppy but there was a corn flavor in it that I didn't care for. I believe that I may have bottled it a little too early as well because of this flavor. We shall see.

CheeseNips

Notes:

Pours a hazy bright orange with 2 fingers of foam. Aroma is a slight resin that gives way to a prominent tropical fruit smell, mostly mango to me; some vegetal in there as well, like smelling a bag of hops. Flavor is more of resin and pine than fruit with a noted bitterness that lingers at the end; there is an edge of funkiness, almost a rotting fruit perhaps, mixed in that is from the kveik. Body is medium to full and there is nucleation sharpness. What a great IPA. This is truly a blend of NEIPA and West Coast IPA styles that I really enjoy. This is a 4 star beer all day. I only wish that I could incorporate a little more fruit into the palate.
