Ten Minute IPA Brew Session

Added 6.8g of CaCl via 1.5 tsp. Recipe called for 2 tsp but I just couldn't added more given how light the beer is and I'm concerned about beer tasting mineral-y. This took just about 5 minutes to put together as I soaked the piloncillo sugar in water overnight and it was already dissolved. 2/6 - bottled today. The aroma was good but the flavor was not; it's hard to describe but there was a cider flavor mixed in there, which I suspect is from the sugar. I'm thinking that I may be pouring all of this out but I will let the finished product speak for itself.

Notes:

Pours with half a finger of foam that dissipates quickly, yellow in color, somewhat clear. Aroma is a resinous hop with a sweetness to it, not very profound though. Flavor is the same though on the back end there is fruity yeast phenolic; mixed in there is a tiny bit of astringency as well. Body is medium to light and there is a little nucleation sharpness. Overall, this beer is fine for what it is, which is a light, hoppy beer. It's not an IPA nor a hazy IPA. It needs a better malt profile and more hop flavor. 3 stars.
