Special Instructions

  1. Mash in 1.5qt of 133° water per LB of grain (3.5 Gal).
  2. Protien Rest at 122° for 30 minutes.
  3. Infuse additional (boiling?) water to raise mash temp to 153°. Alternatively, drain 2 gallons of wort into boil pot, bring to boil and roll back into mash. Adjust mash temp to approximately 148°.
  4. Saccharification Rest for 60 minutes.
  5. Mash out (raise mash temp to 170° any friggen way you can).
  6. Vorloft until wort is clean.....begin collecting wort in boil kettle.
  7. Sparge with 170° water; collect 8 gallons total.
  8. Begin 90 minute boil.
  9. 60 minute: Add 1.25 oz hops
  10. 10 minutes: Add sugar and 1/2 tsp Yeast Nutrient
  11. 5 minutes: Add .75 oz hops and one whirlfloc tablet.
  12. Flame out: Cool - add yeast (I prefer a starter).....blah-blah-blah
