Brewing Notes Joe Berger and I brewed today with the original HT (Houb Tripel) recipe. 1) 7.5 gallons of mash water at 166F (should have been a couple degrees lower) 2) Mashed at 152 for one hour. Had some trouble with the recirc pump as usual. 3) Adjusted Ph to 5.4 after 10 minutes of mashing. 4) Mashed for an hour 5) Sparged with 10 gallons of water at about 20 oz per minute calibrated at the mash tun and boil kettle.
