Brew in bag method: Added grains to 4 gallons of water. After the boil let the grain drain from bag. Then poured 2 gallons of water in the mesh bag to drain again. End up with roughly 4 gallons. Initial gravity: 1.040. Final gravity was 1.010. Around 4.5ABV. Primed bottles with 45g sugar dissolved in 500ml water.
A simple but nice summer ale recipe that should make about a dozen 12 oz bottles of beer. Bottle carbonate and condition for four to six weeks before drinking. Will remain shelf stable for about one year from bottling date at room temperature storage.
