A friend gave me some NC mountain apples and I decided to try an Apple Spiced Ale. Using 2 row base malt with a little chocolate malt, crystal 60 and flaked oats. Bitter hopped with Northern Brewer and no aroma addition. Used cinnamon, vanilla bean and ginger root for flavor and aroma. Apples pasteurized and added to the secondary.
blend of 2 rows, marisO and 25% of the mash being munich. flaked oat for mouth feel C40 for some color, but keeping it low. (Munich and Caras not always popular in IPA). Majority of base malts from Lunar Brewing Company. I historically suck at making IPA or PA that arent overly hoppy, grassy overdry.....which bothers me alot so I need more practice. Go Cubs 2017....
