Water treatment - 7.5g calcium chloride, 3.7g gypsum, .6g Epsom salt (didn't treat water this time) Mash at 160? for sweeter finish & more body
Using some new experimental hops from YVH: HBC 586 and HBC 692. I may swap out the Strata with Centennial or Chinook.
Single malt all grain clone of a clone of Boulder Beer's Mojo IPA. The clone is called Dojo IPA. Boil size should probably be 1.7 gallons after the fact. Was exactly 16oz short of a gallon for the primary. Spgr 1.068 before adding the 16oz, so final spgr is probably 1.060. Original Dojo IPA recipe (5 gal) here https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/dojo-ipa-mojo-clone.205075/. My first all grain - wanted simplicity, but still wanted big hops.
Through my first brew session I realized a few things: loss through equipment needed to be cut to zero as I am only doing a one gallon batch and therefore no loss, except wort shrinkage (corrected). Also realized my boil loss is only 0.625 gal/hr instead of 1 gal, so had to adjust there. After first brew session, looks like my efficiency is about 56%. :(
