Clone recipe for one of my all-time favorites, based on details given by the man himself, Pete Slosberg (70% Pale, 29% Caramel, 1% Chocolate, 13° Plato, 29 IBU, Brewer's Gold hops). Version No. 1 included Special Roast and a bit more Chocolate, both are components of early clones. Version No. 2 here goes right to the heart of the original formula as an extract brew.

What Styles Are These Recipes?

It's not uncommon for a homebrewer to craft a homebrew recipe that does not satisfy the specific guidelines of the BJCP style guidelines. For example, a homebrewer might make an IPA recipe and decide they want it to be more bitter or darker than the defined style.

There are plenty of great homebrew recipes that fall into this category and they should not be overlooked.
