An old Munton's Wheat Beer kit I found at a Going out of Business Sale at a LHBS for $10. LME was really dark and this thing looks like a porter moreso than a Wheat Beer. We'll see what happens. Yeast was 2 years past the expiry date so I took a chance and dumped two different strains from two old sachet's I had around. It took a few days but it is bubbling away. Beer ended at 1.014 but OG was 1.049 so ABV is very close. Color lightened up over time. Will be interesting once carbed and ...

What Styles Are These Recipes?

It's not uncommon for a homebrewer to craft a homebrew recipe that does not satisfy the specific guidelines of the BJCP style guidelines. For example, a homebrewer might make an IPA recipe and decide they want it to be more bitter or darker than the defined style.

There are plenty of great homebrew recipes that fall into this category and they should not be overlooked.
