Mash Steps

Special Instructions
1.Heat 4gal mash water and x gal strike to 160F in boil kettle, add 1 camden tablet while heating.
2.Preheat tun with water from the boil kettle and discard to HLT.
3.Add crushed grains to tun.
4.Add 4gal mash water from boil kettle a gal at a time and stir between additions
5.Move the rest of the water from the boil kettle to the HLT. Set HLT to 170F.
6.Start 1hr mash rest and monitor temp. Stir every 15min.
7.Turn on HERMS pump if temp drops in tun.
8.Vorlauf and lauter to boil kettle.
9.Add 3.5gal sparge water and stir. Rest for 15min.
10.Vorlauf and lauter to boil kettle. Add HLT water if boil volume is less than 6.5gal.
11.Start 1hr boil. Add 2oz hops at beginning of boil and 2oz after 50min.
12.Whirlpool and transfer to fermenter. Add 2 packets of yeast.
