OG after mashing came in at 1.035, much lower than expected so I changed efficiency to match OG. I am thinking I should have double or ground the wheat much more than my standard grind. I usually stir a couple times but forgot this time as well. I do circulate my wort while mashing and can heat the wort as needed so opening and stirring should not be a problem maintaining temp. To up the OG I boiled enough water with dry malt extract to up the gravity.

Special Instructions

  1. Heat 2 gallon of strike water to 170 degree and add to grains in tun
  2. Mash for 60 minutes at 152 degree.
  3. Heat 4 gallon of water, sparge with 170 degree water and collect 5 gallon for boil
  4. Add hops at intervals indicated, add whirloc during last 15 minutes
  5. Final OG came in really low at 1.035
