Special Instructions
- took 1 lb of grain and soaked in water for 3 hours. baked at 170 for 2 hour to convert starch, preferred 160 but oven would not go that low.
- baked 4 oz. for 10 minutes at 300 this is around a 20L crystal
- baked 12 oz. for 25 minutes at 300 this is around a 60L crystal
- mash grains at 150 degree for 60 minutes and mash out for 30 minutes at 155 degree.
- boil for 90 minutes, add whirloc at last 15 minutes
- the crystal additions are just representations of the roasted grain to get an idea of the SRM
- tun temp stuck at 147 and heated water to 160 before I realized it. dropped mash temp back to 152
- PH measure around 5.2
- dry hop last 5 days of secondary carbonation after fermentation and before racking and clearing.
