Special Instructions

  1. took 1 lb of grain and soaked in water for 3 hours. baked at 170 for 2 hour to convert starch, preferred 160 but oven would not go that low.
  2. baked 4 oz. for 10 minutes at 300 this is around a 20L crystal
  3. baked 12 oz. for 25 minutes at 300 this is around a 60L crystal
  4. mash grains at 150 degree for 60 minutes and mash out for 30 minutes at 155 degree.
  5. boil for 90 minutes, add whirloc at last 15 minutes
  6. the crystal additions are just representations of the roasted grain to get an idea of the SRM
  7. tun temp stuck at 147 and heated water to 160 before I realized it. dropped mash temp back to 152
  8. PH measure around 5.2
  9. dry hop last 5 days of secondary carbonation after fermentation and before racking and clearing.
